Osama Bin Laden is Dead.  So what?
American "know-nothings" have prohibited educated debate. We know less about 9/11's root causes a decade later than the day of the attacks.

IRmep Editorial - May 1, 2011

Osama bin Laden is dead, killed by US Navy Seals in a raid against a compound in Abbottabad, thirty miles from the capitol city of Islamabad, Pakistan.  The major questiondoes killing Bin Laden impact the motivations driving unrestis receiving little attention as throngs of Americans spill into the streets of Washington and New York, shouting, "USA! USA!"

Ever since 9/11, Americans have been fed a steady and unhealthy diet of propaganda.  According to the Bush administration, jetliners swooped from a clear blue sky, striking America with no warning because of hatred for "our freedoms."  For many "terrorism experts" 9/11 was the very beginning of history.  The handful of real scholars who have seriously studied the motivations behind the 9/11 attacks have been all but banned from establishment US media access and relevant venues.  US policy favoring Israel, a major driver of the attackseven according to the 9/11 Commission Reporthas unleashed new obscenities against the Palestinians, including economic blockades and support for unrestricted Israeli military attacks against unarmed civilians, relief flotillas and infrastructure.  Other grievances behind 9/11, including the military occupation of Muslim lands, have only changed in geographical location rather than scope.  Questions in the US about the anthrax attacks that accompanied 9/11 have gone unanswered.  Who mailed the envelopes to Congress and the media, and why?

The orgy of destruction in Iraq, orchestrated by a neoconservative/media drive and falsified intelligence about yellow-cake purchases and weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, may have caused the deaths of over a million people.  9/11 was the prime justification for the US invasion of Iraq, yet there has been no truth and reconciliation process to settle outstanding questions about why the US really invaded a country that had nothing to do with the attacksand that possessed no weapons of mass destruction.

The current American approach to understanding 9/11 is "know-nothingism," in many cases driven by Zionism and its blanket prohibition on honestly debating root causes of Middle East conflict in the American press, academia and Congress.  As growing ranks of "terrorism experts" and other beneficiaries of perpetual war and the military-industrial complex again take to the airwaves to relive the heady days of 9/11 panic-induced calls for mass "revenge", calmer heads must now come together and begin challenging future waves of no-nothing policy tragedies and propaganda of the new post-Bin Laden era.
